How to Play Piano by Ear

If you've never played piano by ear, I'm sure you'll stand with the thousands of on-lookers who listen in wonder and say, "how do you play piano by ear?"

Well, there's no hard and fast answer to that question, but I don't believe it's an impossible feat for anyone. What you should know right off the bat, is that it takes a little know-how and a ton of practice. So if you're lacking in patience, (especially with yourself), you might find learning to play piano by ear extremely difficult, in which case you may just want to learn for the shear benefit of trying your patience, but I suppose that's a bit off topic.

In any case, playing by ear is a thrill, and it will help in all your musical endeavours.
